Course Overview
This course provides a comprehensive study of the Old Testament as Sacred Scripture within the Christian tradition.
Students will explore the historical, literary, and theological dimensions of the Old Testament, with attention to its covenantal themes, narrative structure, law, poetry, prophecy, and wisdom literature.
Emphasis is placed on understanding the Old Testament in its ancient Near Eastern context while also examining its enduring significance for Christian faith, theology, and practice.
